Ploy Ethamma

Registered Social Worker

Hi, I’m Ploy.

Life isn’t always a smooth ride—it can feel messy, overwhelming, and hard
to manage on your own. Balancing life and everything in between isn’t easy; it takes
conscious effort, and we all need support sometimes. I believe no one should have to
navigate life’s ups and downs alone, and I’m here to offer a supportive space where we
can untangle things together.
Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or
misunderstood. They may be experiencing anxiety, intergenerational challenges such
as family expectations, relationship concerns, or navigating a life transition without a
clear sense of direction. Much of my work is with individuals from immigrant and
first generation Canadian families, as well as those navigating intercultural and
interracial relationships. I understand the complexities of growing up between cultures,
balancing family expectations, and developing a strong sense of identity and belonging.
Support looks different for everyone, which is why I tailor my approach to each person’s
unique needs, developmental stage, and lived experience—there is no one size fits all
approach. I offer a person centered space where we work collaboratively on what matters
most to you, while honoring the strengths that make you who you are. This may
include integrating lifestyle factors such as movement, environment, and exploring ways
to care for your wellbeing while staying connected to your cultural values.
No matter who you are or what has brought you here, I’m glad you made it. Reaching
out is a courageous step toward the changes you want for yourself.
